Boxing Day 2012 - weather not too bad, - good enough for a walk around town and a chance to get some fresh air & walk off the Christmas over indulgences!  ... joined by Steph and Rob we visited the site...

The town was quiet, the Old Silk Mill looked great on a day like today, - so peaceful & quiet ! ....  it started to rain on the way home, - thankfully there are 3 pubs en-
route which were all very busy but provided adequate shelter!!!  ....  work to the cottage due to start again early in the new year.

Friday 14 December 2012

Nothing much to report yesterday Thursday 13th,  work continued digging foundations which had to be observed by an Archaeologist (just incase we found a Roman Villa or something!  .. thankfully we didn't -!!)

I wasn't going to stay around for long  ..... it was fffffrrrrreeeezing !!!!!!!

I headed off to Stratford upon Avon Christmas market  ... much more fun :-)
Loads of goodies there, but best of all my dear friend Judith was selling her wonderful soap, and as she's so photogenic I couldn't resist adding a picture to the blog !  "Hi Judith!"

This wonderful soap will be complimentary to guests staying at Crafty Cottage

"Mud .... Mud ..... Glorious Mud ....!

Hooray! earlier this week we started work again - piling is happening, and since Wednesday when the piling company arrived there's been good progress despite some snow, frost - rain and now the inevitable mud !! .... but we keep smiling of course :-)

Monday 22 October 2012

A foggy Monday morning,  -  garage now gone with bricks bagged up to use in the walls of the cottage, drainage being worked on today ......

Things very muddy! .... but one of the advantages of me running a B&B is being able to supply tasty warm pork sausages on demand to builders on a cold October morning!
:-)

Thursday 11 October 2012

Just got back from Sheep Street, - where the garage roof is coming off today!  not an easy task as it is solid concrete.  Paul & Max had to cut it into segments & it's being lifted off by crane.

Just started to rain :-(  ......  going home to make the sarnies & builders tea!

....  back an hour later with lunch :-)

October 2012 - work starts on Sheep Street Chipping Campden.  The Old Silk Mill stands proud across the River Cam behind us,  - it's hard to imagine that where the digger, skip & derelict garage now stand, - Crafty Cottage will shortly appear.
